Individual and Couples Therapy
I offer support to individuals and couples who want to deepen connections with themselves and develop a spiritually rich intimacy with others. We will create a safe place to unravel stuck places, move toward building or repairing trusting relationships, and deal with life transitions.
Authenticity is a key to trusting, intimate relationships, but first we must be authentic with ourselves. Depending on your needs and wants, I will help you explore the following:
Identify your authentic feelings and longings.
Learn to communicate your feelings, longings, and boundaries in a caring, respectful way -- without distancing people with blame, defensiveness, and criticism.
Deal with hurt and broken trust in a way that leads to repair and renewal.
Heal from loss, rejection, and betrayal -- and keep your heart open for new love.
Replace escalating cycles of blame and shutting down by learning to communicate genuine feelings and longings that underlie attacks and criticism.
Learn self-soothing skills to develop inner resources that no one can take away; cultivating inner strength to be yourself and to be tender and vulnerable.
Create a climate that invites people toward you, rather than push them away.
Identify and heal shame.
Develop relationship skills that create a climate for enduring love, trust, and intimacy
Embrace necessary sorrow when dealing with grief and loss rather than succumb to unnecessary suffering.
Discover the hidden wisdom in your feelings; befriend your feelings and longings without drowning in them.
Communicate with your authentic, empowered voice without overpowering others.
Connect with your experience in a bodily felt way, rather than trying to figure everything out in your head; honor your spirituality without bypassing feelings.
Relationships can be a path toward personal and spiritual growth. Healing your heart and cultivating wisdom learned through relationships, you deepen your connection with yourself, others, and life itself. Offices in San Francisco, San Rafael, and the Sebastopol area.
I am available for longer session for people traveling long distances. To contact me, please call (707) 829-8948.
